Summer in the Mountains (SIM) is on

Lectures start April 16, weekends are May 4, 5 and May 25, 26 or June 1, 2. SIM is a course designed for novices interested in learning the techniques necessary  for safe travel on rock, snow and ice. The course will fit you to go on novice with experience club trips. Winter TNF 2019

Edmonton Section Summer Camp 2019

AUG. 25 – SEPT. 02 LITTLE YOHO VALLEY This year’s camp will be held in Yoho National Park near Field B.C. the camp will be twenty-one persons at the Stanley Mitchell Hut belonging to the ACC .  The main activity in this area is hiking and beginner to intermediate scrambling.  There are two mountaineering objectives the Presidents and Isolated Peak both are glacier ice approaches.  We will be bringing club ropes for those who wish Read more…

Parkway Ice

Trip Report Author:  Gord Matthies Participants: Rob Denson (Leader), Jessica Ambler, Gord Matthies Friday evening started with Rob and Jessica rolling through Red Deer to pick up Gord on the way to Beauty Creek Hostel.  We ended up being the only three people there all weekend.  After a couple of false starts on the heaters due to the last occupants turning the propane off at the tank, we settled in for a fantastic weekend.
