Alpine Club of Canada – Edmonton Section

March 22, 2026: The ACC Edmonton Section is seeking an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator to join our Board. This is a voting position that plays a key role in helping our community become more inclusive and accessible for everyone who shares a love of the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to reduce barriers to participation in ACC Edmonton activities for groups historically under-represented in outdoor spaces (e.g., BIPOC, 2S/LGBTQIA+ community members, people with disabilities, newcomers to Canada).
  • Collaborate with community partners to design and implement meaningful EDI initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Section Accounting Coordinator to ensure that all initiatives align with the section’s budget and financial priorities.
  • Advise the ACC Edmonton Board on EDI best practices and emerging approaches that strengthen inclusion across our programs and events.

Board Role

  • This is a voting position on the ACC Edmonton Board.
  • Board members attend monthly meetings and contribute to strategic direction and community leadership.
