Trips: The section offers many trips to the mountains across a variety of sports and difficulties.  All of our trips are self-guided, so participants should expect to contribute to the safety and success of trips by being self-sufficient to a degree that aligns with the trip objective and experience level.  Notable trips include annual winter ski weeks such as at the Campbell icefield chalet and annual summer hiking/scrambling trip to the Elizabeth Parker hut. Find all trip information on the calendar. Not seeing a trip you’re interested in on the calendar? Consider leading it!  Being a trip leader comes with it’s own set of sweet perks and resources.

Events: All members have open invitations to our in-town casual events (including socials, meetings, and pub nights) where you can expect to hear from famed experts and/or peer amateur adventurers, storytellers, and creatives with a focus on mountain excursions and lifestyle. The section’s annual BBQ offers members a subsidized meal (all section volunteers eat free!) and is also where section recipients to the ACC volunteer awards are presented and celebrated.  Find all event information on the calendar.

Train: Weekly climbing nights and ski touring nights vary season to season but are routinely available to our members either for free or for discounted rates.  Ice climbers we got you too, with member discounts at the ice wall (beginners welcome)! Check the calendar for details.

Member Discounts: if you’re hunting for new gear, service, or rentals you can enjoy discounts at many Edmonton retailers by showing your ACC membership. This includes our friends at Track N’ Trail, Sundance Ski and Snowboard, and Fjallraven Edmonton. ACC members are also eligible to receive 40-50% off The North Face Canada online; apply for TNF Pro. Members can also access a variety of other pro-deal discounts by applying and creating an account on Expert Voice.

Club Equipment: Trip leaders can borrow a variety of club gear for their party or for members joining section trips absolutely free of charge.  This includes climbing/mountaineering ropes, avalanche equipment sets (transceiver, shovel, probe), snowshoes, and more.
