The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) Edmonton Section is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help support our growing outdoor community. Whether you are interested in governance, communications, stewardship, safety, or community-building, we have a range of opportunities available.

3 Board Opportunities

Board members attend monthly meetings and contribute to the strategic direction and leadership of the ACC Edmonton Section. All board roles listed below are voting positions on the ACC Edmonton Board.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator

The ACC Edmonton Section is seeking an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator to join our Board. This is a voting position that plays a key role in helping our community become more inclusive and accessible for everyone who shares a love of the outdoors.

  • Collaborate with community partners to design and implement meaningful EDI initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Section Accounting Coordinator to ensure that all initiatives align with the section’s budget and financial priorities.
  • Advise the ACC Edmonton Board on EDI best practices and emerging approaches that strengthen inclusion across our programs and events.

We welcome applicants who are passionate about creating equitable access to outdoor recreation and who want to support a welcoming and diverse climbing and mountain community.

Social Events Support

Got big ideas and love bringing people together? So do we! We’re cooking up more fun, social ACC Edmonton events in the city and we need a crew to make them happen.

If hosting a lively pub night sounds like your thing, or you’ve always wanted to pull together a hands-on gear repair workshop, this is your moment. Whether you’re into brainstorming, behind-the-scenes organizing, or running events on the day-of, there’s a spot for you as an ACC volunteer.

Environment & Access – 2026 Trail Days!

Our Environment and Access Coordinator is looking for a few passionate folks to help plan trail days and stewardship events in 2026 and beyond. Our section has a long history of conservation, and we are excited to welcome new hands to help that legacy thrive.

Climbing Night Hosts

Love climbing and meeting new people? We’re looking for 2–3 volunteer hosts to help build connections between new and seasoned members at our monthly climbing nights. Hosts should be comfortable lead climbing and belaying and available on the first Monday (Climb YEG) and/or first Thursday (Wilson Climbing Centre) of each month.
