1. Who Can Enter
    ● Open to all current club members.
    ● All ages welcome — if you’re under 18, please have a parent or guardian enter on
    your behalf.

  2. Theme
    ● There are six categories to choose from:
    o Up (Photos of Ascents)
    o Down (Photos of Descents)
    o Hot Views (Spring/Summer Landscapes)
    o Cold Views (Fall/Winter Landscapes)
    o People (Community/Club/Camp Hangs)
    o No People (Flowers, Plants, Animals)
    ● Photos should embody the themes of the alpine club. For the photos, think
    stewardship, mountaineering, fostering knowledge, community, and promoting
    alpine experiences like hiking, climbing, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, cross
    country skiing.

  3. What to Submit
    ● You can send in one photo per category (6 total photos).
    ● Photos must be taken by you (no borrowing your friend’s epic summit shot).
    ● Photos must have been taken in the last two years.
    ● Photos can be from anywhere in the world.
    ● JPG < 10MB format preferred. If possible, aim for high resolution so it looks great if
    printed or displayed.
    ● Some light editing is fine (cropping, adjusting brightness/contrast), but please don’t
    Photoshop a grizzly bear into your glacier crossing.
    ● No AI generated photos permitted.
    ● No watermarks or big text across the image.

  4. How to Enter
    ● Photos can be submitted from October 11-28, 2026 using this form: ACC Edmonton

  5. How We’ll Choose the Winners
    ● All members can vote by accessing the Alpine Club Canada –
    Edmonton website from November 1 – 10, 2026.
    ● Voters are encouraged to consider:
    1. Creativity & originality
    2. Connection to the alpine/mountains
    3. Overall “wow” factor
    4. Their favorite photo

  6. Prizes
    ● Winners will be announced at the Photo Competition Social hosted at Gravity Pope
    on December 3, 2026.
    ● Fun prizes for 1st and 2nd Place in each category.
    ● Bragging rights are forever.

  7. Photo Use
    ● You keep the copyright to your photos.
    ● By entering, you agree the club can share them on the ACC website, in newsletters,
    on social media, or in displays (always with credit to you).
    ● We won’t sell your photo or use it for anything commercial without your permission.

  8. Good Sportsmanship
    ● This contest is for fun, community spirit, and celebrating our adventures.
    ● The voters’ decisions are final.
