On September 8, the ACC Edmonton Section collaborated with the national ACC office and the downtown MEC store to host a speaker series event. The event featured Eva Capolla, who is an accomplished filmmaker, editor, and storyteller with a passion for mountain and alpine pursuits. Known for her ability to craft compelling narratives, Capolla has merged her love for the outdoors with her filmmaking, creating documentaries that explore human experiences in extreme environments. Her work often highlights the resilience, culture, and connection between people and nature, with a particular focus on alpine adventures. An avid mountaineer herself, Capolla’s deep understanding of the mountains informs her storytelling, adding authenticity and depth to her films. In addition to her work behind the camera, she has made significant contributions as an editor, shaping numerous award-winning projects that inspire audiences to engage with the natural world.
The ACC was also celebrating the launch of this year’s Canadian Alpine Journal, in which Capolla was featured. The event was a great success and it was awesome to see so many smiling faces to take in the night (and go home with awesome prizes)!
Keep your eye out for the next ACC x MEC event – a great swap at the South Edmonton location this October.
